Divination Articles
These Articles are designed to guide readees and clients alike for a better understanding on psychics and psychic readings. Many psychics and readers may also be able to benefit from them too.

Forms of Divination
Divination is an ancient practice for determining future events, used in one form or another throughout history. It is an integral part of psychic and spiritual work, usually involving some kind of tool to use. There are many different forms and derivatives, most of which are listed in the Divination Dictionary.
There are so many different types and forms of prediction that to list them all would take an entire book. Below are some of the commonest ones, and their names, most of which have been taken directly from our Divination Dictionary. (This, and our other dictionaries, are available from the Online Store.)

Sixth Sense
A basic, intuitive perception independent of the five physical senses – sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell – that alerts of impending danger and sometimes its source or cause. It is usually a "gut feeling" that is accompanied by the sensation of the hairs on the back of the neck prickling or sensations of unease and insecurity or physical nausea).

Precognition
The ability to view certain aspects of the future in advance, which usually occurs at the precise moment of someone's death or imminent death. In many cases, a precognitive experience will occur in dreams, showing a relative or close friend relaying some message before they "pass over" properly. (Compare Postcognition.)

Postcognition
The ability to determine the past and events from the past, and sometimes past lives. (Compare Precognition.)

Presentiment
A form of precognition, but the information is not presented in a conscious form and rather relies on emotions or feelings on an autonomic level.

Premonition
The ability to glimpse future events without any foreknowledge or any determinable source. These are usually accompanied by overwhelming sensations of dread or fear that cannot be shaken. Sometimes, specific times and dates feature strongly in premonitory visions, which occur whether awake or asleep. (Compare Precognition and Postcognition.)

Clairomancy
A mediumistic form of divination utilizing the Clair Senses individually or in combination.

Prophecy
In general, a prediction of the future or future events that are usually divinely inspired visions or revelations, especially of important events on a grand scale. Religious prophecies usually predict the coming of a messianic figure as a precursor to Judgement Day.

Prophetic Dreams
Dreams in which the dreamer is given cryptic snippets of information that usually foretells some future event. These usually contain clearly defined references to place names, recurring single digits or groups of numbers, significant symbols or crystal-clear images and details.

Psychometry
A mediumistic ability to determine general information about items, events associated with them and the people who have been in contact with them by touch alone. Photographs of people or places can also be used in psychometry.
Divination "Guidelines"
The future is not carved in stone, as every person's actions influences its outcome. The commonest misconception is that psychics are all-seeing, all-knowing beings capable of peering into the future. So, when predictions fail (for whatever reasons), they are automatically dubbed as "fake" or "fraud".

There are a number of fraudulent psychics, which makes it increasingly more difficult to determine the genuine ones from the fake ones. Subsequently, misconceptions about psychics arise, with no defined morals and ethics or, indeed, what psychics actually are and do. There are no "official" laws or rules governing psychic practice.

Always go with what Intuition tells you; it never lies, only human interpretation of its message does (and we're all at fault with that). If something feels uncomfortable, the chances are that those "alarm bells" are ringing, telling you that it isn't right for you.
