Psychic Readings Articles
These Articles are designed to guide readees and clients alike for a better understanding on psychics and psychic readings. Many psychics and readers may also be able to benefit from them too.
There are no "set rules" regarding psychic readings, as each psychic practices differently, but there are certain moralistic and ethical guidelines that should be used. This also ties in with the Laws & Redes section.

The DOs of Readings
The following article is primarily intended as a guide for readers, both those starting out and professionals alike. There are too many misconceptions about readings and how to read and some psychics abuse the privilege of being able to read. As professional psychics, we frequently witness this "misuse" of gifts and abilities, so we set up this section of the web site to clarify the most common mistakes psychics make. And *ALL* psychics would do well to take notice of them!

1. DO use tools, such as tarot cards or crystal balls, for channeling if they help with the reading. It is a common practice for many psychics to apply a basic interpretation of the symbols on the tarot cards or the images in the crystal balls before concentrating on the reading itself.

Rather than relying solely on these tools for readings, it is better to give an intuitive insight into the reading, sometimes drawing on personal experience to offer further advice, and using the tools as a guide only. This gives a natural balance between the positive and negative aspects of the reading and allows the "client" a sense of satisfaction.

2. DO practice reading and developing gifts and abilities on a regular basis. It does not matter that readers get things wrong; that is part of the learning process. Over time and with practice, accuracy increases as self-confidence builds through each subsequent reading. Fear often holds a reader back. This can cloud judgement and the information received is misinterpreted.

Something to consider during readings is not to use guesswork to provide information. It is much better to be open and honest, and tell the "client" that there is no information at this time about a specific question. Some psychics prefer to ask certain questions to allow for a deeper channel or some connection to other areas. Asking questions and basing the reading on those answers, then giving vague information, however, cannot be considered as a "true" reading, and is often referred to as a "wish fulfillment" reading.

3. DO use meditation and grounding techniques before and after each reading. Readers can be caught off-guard if they have not taken any precautionary steps when channeling into the "client". Using quick, simple meditation techniques is all it takes to clear the mind and allow the psychic to channel more effectively without having to struggle for the information.

The importance of utilizing grounding techniques after each reading cannot be stressed enough here. Grounding not only helps in breaking channel once the reading is over, it also flushes out the surplus energies that the psychic may have picked up on and cleans the "tar" of any emotional energies. Many psychics too frequently overlook this after their readings, even professional psychics who have been practicing for a long time, and the next reading might be tarnished by un-grounded energies.

4. DO seek advice from other more experienced psychics. If there is something within the psychic or spiritual realms of which a reader is uncertain, there is nothing wrong with asking fellow psychics for help or additional input. Most will be more than happy to oblige, if they are not already busy in a reading, as we all learn from one another. The more experienced psychics might offer additional insights into better methods for channeling or meditation or reading, and so on, based on what they learned through their experiences because there are as many different interpretations of the same practices as there are gifts and abilities.

Psychic readings are not exclusively based on overpowering another reader, but allowing other psychics to contribute towards unknown areas. It is better to ask fellow psychics for confirmation and help with the reading rather than become overwhelmed and risk breaking channel, or compete with another reader.

5. DO encourage "clients" to find out certain information for themselves. A psychic's job is NOT to provide all the answers, but to give the basic tools so that a person can learn at his or her own pace. Too frequently we see psychics trying to provide comprehensive answers to simple questions, instead of giving additional resources that may be of more benefit to the "client". It can be very draining having to spell it out, repeating oneself and going around in circles.

It is better in the long run to provide as much information in a reading as necessary, but to balance it out with other resources, web sites, or books. That way, if the "client" chooses to, they can do the research on their own and in their own time.

Remember: One needs to help themselves in order to be helped. Otherwise, they lose sight of their own lessons and rely more and more on others to provide all the answers.

6. DO be prepared for a considerable amount of bashing from "clients". There will be occasions where psychics are forced into the situation where they have to relate bad news or provide answers the "client" does not necessarily want to hear. This can, and often does, result in a string of invectives directed at the psychic - "fake", "fraud", "un-psychic", "charlatan" (we've heard them all) - and not only can this be highly detrimental to one's self-confidence as a reader, but it can tarnish one's reputations as well.

It is preferable that readings are well balanced, concentrating on both positive and negative. The importance of balancing readings is that if any bad news does need to be delivered, then compassion and understanding will go a long way to helping the "client" in dealing with those resultant negatives and learning to move onwards towards more positive goals. That is as comprehensive as one should go, but bear in mind that many "clients" believe that psychics know everything about everything, which certainly is not the case. And when psychics do not provide those answers or simply give generic answers, it might not necessarily be what they want to hear.

7. DO ensure a connection before a hire takes place because it establishes a rapport with the "client" and also what is actually needed for the reading, which tools and methods are required and what advice or insight can be given. Being able to determine connection before a hire also allows the client to decide whether s/he is comfortable with the reader and can relate to and understand the advice given.

It is far more important that the "client" is put at ease prior to them spending any money on a reading. Otherwise, it is like purchasing goods from a store without having seen the product beforehand, only to find out later that it is faulty.

8. DO practice ethically without any "hidden" fees or policies. Instead, observing the proper morals and ethics, as well as borders and limits, allows the trust between reader and client to be developed. Otherwise it becomes a con.

Although there are no "official" regulations for psychic practice, the simple rule of thumb "Treat others as you would want them to treat you" applies. If a psychic attempts to elicit large sums of money to capitalize on their abilities, what would they do if they were targeted with the same?
Psychic "Guidelines"
There are no "set rules" regarding psychic readings, as each psychic practices differently, but there are certain moralistic and ethical guidelines that should be used. This also ties in with the Psychic's Ethics & Redes section.

Individual psychics will have their own form of "morals and ethics", while some will have no scruples. Beware the scam artists because they will not have any compunctions about charging exorbitant prices for little or no services, by any means possible.

Don't worry about the "scare tactices" they use because fear is the greatest enemy and a greater prey.

Instead, go with what Intuition tells you; it never lies, only human interpretation of its message does (and we're all at fault with that).
