These Articles are designed to guide readees and clients alike for a better understanding on psychics and psychic readings. Many psychics and readers may also be able to benefit from them too.
There are no "set rules" regarding psychic readings, as each psychic practices differently, but there are certain moralistic and ethical guidelines that should be used. This also ties in with the
Laws & Redes section.
The following article is primarily intended as a guide for readers, both those starting out and professionals alike. There are too many misconceptions about readings and how to read and some psychics abuse the privilege of being able to read. As professional psychics, we frequently witness this "misuse" of gifts and abilities, so we set up this section of the web site to clarify the most common mistakes psychics make. And *ALL* psychics would do well to take notice of them!
1. DO NOT predict deaths by telling someone they or a loved one are going to die on such-and-such a date. Everyone dies eventually, but this practice feeds into the "self-fulfilling prophecy" and causes so much alarm and fear that it can cause physical death. There have been many cases where levels of stress are so high that it has caused strokes or heart attacks.
It is much better for a psychic to be gentler and less direct, advising caution for a particular date without causing undue stress and fear. Death is never an easy topic to deal with, but it's better not to approach it directly.
2. DO NOT attempt any medical diagnoses or prognoses, as no psychic is suitably qualified for such, especially online. There are so many other factors to consider when dealing with health issues that accuracy is almost impossible without some form of physical examination. Furthermore, the combinations of symptoms can mean one of several things.
It is better to advise a visit to the doctor's office and once a proper examination and diagnosis has been made, alternate methods of healing or herbal medicines can be given then and only then.
3. DO NOT tell someone that they are pregnant. Again, this will fuel the "self-fulfilling prophecy", especially among younger females or those who are trying for a baby. Other health issues, such as hormonal imbalance or some other physical condition, can cause symptoms of pregnancy. There have been too many instances where several different psychics have diagnosed pregnancy, only to find out later that they were wrong, and those persons face bitter disappointment and hurt or they start believing that they are pregnant and endure a phantom pregnancy.
It is highly advocated that a psychic refers them to the GP or doctor's office, where the proper tests can be done, or to recommend pregnancy tests and local centers, which can perform these tests for free (or a minimal fee at least).
4. DO NOT attempt to perform any kind of distance healing or chakra cleansing unless qualified tutors have given the proper training, such as Reiki, and even with that it still takes years of dedicated practice. In our experience, too many unqualified healers have tried to do this and caused more harm than good. With distance healing, a psychic needs to be completely channeled into the person in need of healing energies without the influence of personal emotion or negativity, and knowledge of the positions of the seven basic chakras and what function each performs. It may also be a good idea for the healer to know the type and amount of energy to be used. Furthermore, the proper methods of meditation and concentration need to be observed beforehand.
Psychics should try to obtain the necessary training before attempting any distance healing, even though to some it comes naturally. This way they can apply an in-depth knowledge of the different types of healing and alternative methods of performing them.
5. DO NOT guess at information during a reading. Inaccurate information can be detrimental to the "client" and discredits the true concept of psychic readings. Guesswork in readings might be a by-product of fear, which holds the psychic back from expressing the information they receive. Alternatively, it might be that the psychic is learning to channel but has yet to "master" it, therefore becoming impatient that they do not receive enough information. Unfortunately, patience and practice are an essential part of learning to read. These types of readings are generally known as "wish fulfillment" readings.
It is better in the long run to provide the information that is received and to admit to it when nothing further can be picked up. Psychics are actually essentially mentors, spiritual advisors and counselors, so when it comes to giving readings they are not only empathizing with the client's needs, but also providing beneficial advice and giving information that might not otherwise be common knowledge.
6. DO NOT specify times or dates and pass them off as fact, as this can heavily influence "clients", who will actually wait for the times or dates to come to fruition. Nothing is really concrete or carved in stone, especially in the spirit world, where time has no meaning. We shape our own futures by our own actions or the actions of others and, by providing specific times and dates for an event, it does not take into consideration these factors.
Rather than revealing specifics, we would advise that psychics give vague dates, within two or three months, along with words to the effect that all dates are subject to change depending on what happens between now and then, and what actions are taken to change those outcomes.
7. DO NOT negatively influence people with claims of being targeted by "evil spells", "curses" or "dark entities". Fears will invariably develop to the point that it becomes manifested as an energy and the fears become a reality. This kind of practice can also cause a person so much stress and heartache that they become physically and mentally ill.
It is better to determine the source of the "negative influences" first. Usually there is an deep-seated, underlying issues that cannot be resolved normally, so once that has been established the proper methods for dealing with those issues can be focused on. These usually involve emotional or environmental influences, or unresolved issues from childhood, which present themselves in recognizable forms so that they can be "learned" and dealt with.
